"I've packed up my riggin', soon to be leavin' this outfit I've known.
I'll always remember the friends I have made here and the kindness they've shown."

— Mike Fleming, Buckaroo Dream

Say it ain't so, Mike! Alas, the days of New West as a touring band are over. Mike is just too damn happy at home, and in his new job, to continue to keep New West in the saddle. It's been a great ride, though. Ten years of the best Western music ever, combined with an unpretentious showmanship second to none.

We'll miss their shows, but their music lives on.
You can still order their three great CDs on line, right here .

As a showcase for Mike's beautiful songs, the trio's sweet harmony singing, and Raul's world-class guitar work, all 3 CDs are indispensible!

You can keep up with what Raul is doing at the Rhythm Brothers website.

I hope to establish a web presence for David Jackson soon, so check here again.

You can contact Michael Fleming at: gnuwest@ca.rr.com. Bug him about some New West reunion concerts.

This will not be a static web page. As any news develops regarding New West, or any of its members, I'll post it here. So check back again. But for now,

May the horse be with you.

New West Reunion Tour, 2007!

New West will be returning to Colorado for the first time in several years for a first, semi-annual, kinda sorta 2007 reunion tour the last week of August through Labor Day weekend.

We'll start with a night at the Old Town Pickin' Parlor in Arvada, CO on Thursday, August 30. Start time will be 7:00 pm and tickets are $15.00. Special thanks to Kit Simon, proprietor of Old Town for having us back at one of favorite venues. www.picknparlor.com

Friday, August 31 New West will head south to the Black Rose Acoustic Society concert hall outside Colorado Springs for an evening show at 7:00 pm. Ticket prices are still to be determined but this is one great concert hall and has some of the best music fans anywhere. Thanks to Charlie Hall and all the Black Rose folks for having us back. www.blackroseacoustic.org

The following day we'll finish up our mini-tour with two days in beautiful Westcliffe, CO at Wet Mountain Western Days on September 1-2. This will be one special weekend where we get to hook up with old friends, Sons and Brothers as well as artists like Dave Stamey, Liz Masterson, Bill Barwick and many more great Western musicians and poets. It's a great festival in the perfect setting. www.wetmountainwesterndays.com

We hope to see you and reunite with friends and accomplices once again. I can speak for all of us when I say that Colorado has always held a special place in our hearts and we'll be counting the days until we return.

Vaya con Dios,
Mike Fleming
